Discovering Alto Lario: - gastronomic and cultural itineraries - Guided tours
This year again the project Non Solo Lago (Not Just Lake) invites you to discover the Valle Albano Park and its territory, the Lake Como, with proposals of cultural, environmental and gastronomic itineraries, suitable for everyone.
The program is full and varied. It starts April 16, 2016, with the event dedicated to Gravedona: the sacred area with Santa Maria del Tiglio and the Beekeeping Gramatica, the first of five suggested routes that combine the exploration of historical and artistic aspects with the knowledge of local farms and their products. From June, the tourist offer includes simple guided excursions to discover the most remote and fascinating corners of the Albano Valley. The proposals are suitable to everyone, in order to allow both residents and tourists to discover the beauty and quality of the territory.
The initiative is realized within the project Non Solo Lago (Not Just Lake). Resilience strategies for the care and tourism and environment enhancement of the mountain territory of Alto Lario, funded by Fondazione Cariplo and promoted by Istituto Oikos and the town of Gravedona ed Uniti, with the aim of enhancing the mountainous area of the municipality Gravedona ed Uniti (located North of Lake Como), in particular the the Albano Valle park and its neighboring areas.

NON SOLO LAGO – Resilience strategies for the stewardship and enhancement of tourism and the environment in the alpine territory of Alto Lario
The project Non Solo Lago aims to enhance and promote the alpine area of the municipality of Gravedona ed Uniti (located in the northern part of Lake Como), with particular regard to the Valle Albano Park and its adjacent areas.
Non Solo Lago is financed by the Fondazione Cariplo and promoted by Istituto Oikos ( http://www.istituto-oikos.org ) in partnership with the Municipality of Gravedona ed Uniti.
The project is involved in upgrading the network of walking paths in Valle Albano, expanding the offer for tourism and recreation in the mountain area, and supporting the local agro-pastoral production chain. Project initiatives will make it possible to tackle the causes behind the deterioration of the alpine environment, and to encourage good custodial practices. Lastly, the project favors the development of sustainable tourism as an instrument to ensure the valorization of local natural and cultural heritage in cooperation with the socioeconomic growth of the community.
