Buying a house on the lake of Como is certainly a good investment. Prices have increased over in the last few years and they were stable even when the estate market recorded a notable bending in the other areas. This is because the nature of the territory doesn't allow extensive development of the house-building so  the great demand of houses on the lake cannot be fulfilled.

 

The "real estate" market of this area mainly consists of restructured or to restore houses; the offer of new constructions is quite limited.

 

 

 

 

Houses are mainly apartments with the typical charm of old buildings but  cannot provide the “modernities” we are used to. The lack of a parking plot or of a car access increase the value of the property. However a short walk is rewarded by the absence of the annoying traffic noise and often  by a view of the lake.
