Easter 2010

Easter break on Lake Como – The climate is worm and the sun shines, the lake is brilliant and the green shores draw visitors to lakefront old fishing villages, restaurants, ancient villas and gardens . All around the Lake nature is lovely and relaxing, it smells of incoming spring and easiness. 

Lake Como is the ideal for a spring break vacation. We suggest you to visit  the city centre   or a nice  escursion, maybe relaxing and cruising by boat. 
 
 
The Holy Week starts on March 28th until Easter Monday, on April 5th 2010. As per secular tradition on Holy Tuesday afternoon until Holy Friday evening, the simulacra of Holy Crucifix (SS. Crocifisso) is going to be exposed to faithful people’s kiss. On Holy Friday at  3.00p.m. the city procession begins  from the Sanctuary  with the SS. Crocifisso. Source, Como Dioceses.
 

Besides the festive ceremony we also have the traditional Holy Thursday Fair or Easter Fair, from Thursday April 1st until Easter Monday April 5th: 176 colorful stalls from all over Italy  will frame Viale Varese, Viale Cattaneo and all around Porta Torre area where the usual Haberdashery Market is going to present  with 200 stalls.

In Piazza Cavour, drom March 27th to April 11th, you' ll find the traditional Easter Market, many little wooden houses full of good things to taste, buy and give as a present.
 

In the near Switzerland, in Lugano, join the event dedicated to Easter, "Pasqua in Città": all  Lugano squares will be gladdened with specific entertainment and many stalls selling local products and nice staff to give as present; also, folk music groups will play in the streets. Don' t miss the traditional Concert of the Civic Philarmonic Orchestra in Piazza Battaglini, on Sunday April 4th, at 10.30 a.m..
